Paleo Challenge Details!

CrossFit Tri-Cities Spring Paleo Challenge!

CrossFit Tri-Cities is launching its spring Paleo Challenge for both existing members and those who are not members, but interested in making a positive change in their lives just in time for summer! This 8 week challenge will take a focus on nutrition, in addition to an 8 week workout challenge. Our Spring Paleo Challenge is a great opportunity to focus on the nutrition issues that some face when trying to make progress in their weight loss and performance goals!

How it works:

If you’re interested or curious about joining us in our Paleo Challenge you must attend one of our Nutrition meetings on Monday April 5th at 12pm or 8pm, or on Tuesday April 6th at 12pm or 8pm. We will outline the Paleo concept, how to keep track of what you’re going to be doing for the next 8 weeks, and give you plenty of resources to make this much easier than it may seem! The Nutrition meeting will outline the rules, explain the workout challenge for the coming up weekend, and allow us to answer any questions you may have pertaining to the challenge itself.

The preliminary workout for the Spring Paleo Challenge will take place on Saturday April 10th, and feature a workout or series of workouts to measure progress over the coming 8 weeks. The final workout/s will take place on Saturday June 5th to measure overall improvement!

-All contestants will have a front, back and side picture taken on Monday April 5th or Tuesday April 6th. Guys will wear shorts and no shirt, ladies will wear shorts and bathing suit top. These pictures will remain confidential. The only people besides the coaches who will see them are the judges. The judges will be an independent 3rd party. You don't know them and they don't know you. They will vote on the top 3 most improved physiques. Note: that this does not mean most impressive.

-Challenge winner will be the persons (male and female) earning the most points at the end of the challenge. Points over the course of the Challenge can be earned a number of ways:

1. Turning in your food log everyday. Each day that you submit a log that is 80% compliant with the Paleo diet, you will earn 1 point. Yes, we will be checking. Any day that you eat a grain product, or consume alcohol will be an automatic 0. The only exception is 1 glass of wine a day. There are a possible 60 points to earn for food logs alone!

2. Each week you will have an opportunity to set a new personal record (PR) on a workout of the day. Setting a PR earns you 5 points. There are 40 points possible for PR’s.

3. Your before and after photo being voted “the most impressive change” will earn 45 points for 1st, 30 points for 2nd and 15 points for 3rd.

4. Your placement in our workout challenge is a great place to earn points as well. This will be based on the number of participants in the actual challenge itself. For example: If there are 20 participants, 1st place will receive 20 points, second place will receive 19 points, and so on. Points will be awarded after the final event (not the prelims) on Saturday June 5th. The most improved male and female contestants will receive a 10 point bonus after the June 5th finals as well!


We will be maintaining a website blog specifically for this challenge! It will be linked on our website and updated with resources, news, and other info pertaining to the Spring Paleo Challenge. We will give you guys and gals as much help as you need to see and feel the changes that a healthy lifestyle can give you!

The Prizes:

Prizes will be awarded for the most points achieved at the end of the 8 weeks to the top male and female contestants. Prizes for each winner will consist of:

-$100 Gift Certificate to Texas De Brazil.
-Buddy passes from Southwest Airlines to fly to any of the 68 cities that they fly to, for free!
-$300 cash prize!
